Ruchi Shah is an independent wall painter and illustrator. Her works explore themes of daily life through everyday objects and materials. She has studied Design at IIT Bombay, followed by a second MA in Visual Arts from Camberwell College, UAL, London. She was awarded a prestigious scholarship from the British Council during her time in London. After working in Yahoo as a senior designer, she quit to work as an illustrator and has over 7 years of experience now. Between Pratham Books (NGO) and Tulika Books she has 10 titles, that have been published multilingually. She has been to different villages in India from the regions of Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra, and more recently to Uganda where she works with local schools, facilitating art workshops. She recently spoke about this work and its impact at the TEDx conference in Madhya Pradesh, India.
