Tanya Majmudar

Tanya Majmudar is a children’s author and editor who co-founded the children’s publications programme at Kalpavriksh, producing award-winning books on environment, wildlife and conservation. Her authored books include Guardians of Gobuk, The Monster Who Could Not Climb a Tree and Something to Chew On, among others. Alongside writing, Tanya has worked for over a decade in community-led conservation, supporting Indigenous Peoples’ and local community initiatives. 

Her work has included programme strategy, documentation, environmental education and the development of the Community Conserved Areas (CCA) portal, which documents grassroots conservation efforts from across the country. She has also created educational resources and reading programmes for children. She enjoys wildlife watching, travel, music, books, gardening and swimming.
