Adithi graduated from Smith College, Massachusetts. She worked as assistant director on the Hindi film Satya, and writer/editor at Indya.com.
Her book Will Goondi Come Home? won the Atta Galatta-Bangalore Literature Festival award for Best Children’s Picture Book (Story) in 2024. Boy, Bear was short-listed for the Green Literature Awards, while Noon Chai and a Story and Candid Tales: India on a Motorcycle have been on the Parag Honour List. Adithi’s short stories have been published in anthologies, international magazines and English school textbooks. She writes for children and adults, across age groups and genres.
The rights to her film script rest with Aamir Khan Productions. The play she scripted for Katkatha Puppet Arts Trust, The Nights, debuted at the World Puppet Theatre Festival in France. She conducts writing workshops, and is visiting faculty at the Srishti Manipal Institute of Art, Design & Technology. You can find her at www.adithirao.com.
