Nandana Dev Sen

A writer, actor and child-rights activist, Nandana has written 6 children’s books, translated into 15 languages globally: In My Heart (Puffin, 2019), The Monkey Who Wanted to Fly (Fetrinelli Kids, 2018), Talky Tumble of Jumble Farm (Puffin, 2017), Not Yet! (Tulika, 2017), Mambi and the Forest Fire (Puffin, 2016) and Kangaroo Kisses (Otter-Barry, 2016, selected by 320 U.K. nurseries as a “Book of Excellence”). Nandana’s interactive storytellings have been boisterously loved by over 20,000 kids across the world. After studying literature at Harvard and filmmaking at U.S.C., Nandana worked as a book editor, a screenwriter, a poetry translator, a script-doctor, and as Princess Jasmine in Disneyland. Nandana has served on the jury of numerous child-protection committees, international film festivals, and literary awards, including the DSC Prize, 2018. As an ambassador and advocate, Nandana works with RAHI, UNICEF, Mission Smile and Apne Aap International, to fight against child abuse. Delegate | 2019, 2020
