Timeri N Murari is the author of eighteen published novels, including best-sellers The Taliban Cricket Club (2012) and Taj (2007), and four works of non-fiction. He began his career on a Canadian newspaper and later moved to London to write for The Guardian. He has also written for The Sunday Times, New York Times, the Hindu and other publications. He wrote and produced the award-winning movie Daayraa (The Square Circle). Time magazine voted it as one of the top 10 best films in 1997. He adapted and directed it as a stage play, The Square Circle, at the Leicester Haymarket Theatre starring Parminder Nagra. His recent play, Enter Queen Lear, premiered in London in 2016, starring Jenny Runacre. He has also written a book for children, Children of the Enchanted Jungle.
