An alumnus of IIT and IIM, Sandipan has been Editor, Financial Express, Managing Editor, Outlook, and Founder-Editor of Outlook Money, Open and Swarajya magazines. He is the author of several books, both fiction and non-fiction, including The IITians and the novel The Last War, a re-imagining of the Mahabharata, set in the Mumbai criminal world. His two books for children, both published in 2024, are Suryavamshi: The Sun Kings of Rajasthan, a translation of Abanindranath Tagore’s Bengali classic Raj Kahini, and Why The Apple Falls: Fantastic Physics For Children, co-authored with his wife Swagata.
