Namrata Tripathi is Founder, Senior Vice President and Publisher of Kokila. She is the editor of the New York Times bestsellers Hair Love by Matthew A. Cherry and Vashti Harrison , Antiracist Baby by Ibram X. Kendi; and The 1619 Project: Born on the Water by Nikole Hannah-Jones, Renée Watson, and Nikkolas Smith. She also edited the Newbery Honor-winning middle grade novel The Night Diary by Veera Hiranandani; and three National Book Award Finalists: Noggin, Patron Saints of Nothing, and The Legend of Auntie Po. Previously, Namrata held editorial positions at HarperCollins, Disney-Hyperion, and Simon and Schuster. Namrata grew up in Afghanistan, India, Canada, Pakistan, Germany, and Poland, and has called New York City home for the last twenty-five years.
