Namrata Tripathi

Namrata Tripathi is Founder, President and Publisher of Kokila (Penguin Random House). She is the editor of the New York Times bestsellers Hair Love by Matthew A. Cherry and Vashti Harrison, Antiracist Baby by Ibram X. Kendi; and Born on the Water by Nikole Hannah-Jones, Renée Watson, and Nikkolas Smith. She also edited the Newbery Honor-winning middle grade novel The Night Diary by Veera Hiranandani; three National Book Award Finalists: Noggin, Patron Saints of Nothing, and The Legend of Auntie Po, and the 2026 Caldecott Honor books Our Lake and Sundust. Previously, Namrata held editorial positions at HarperCollins, Disney-Hyperion, and Simon and Schuster. Namrata grew up in Afghanistan, India, Canada, Pakistan, Germany, and Poland.
