Martin Kiszko is a poet, composer and academic. He has composed over 200 scores for film and television and released nine soundtrack albums with major European orchestras. His score for the DREAMWORKS promo (made for Steven Spielberg/BBC) won Best Music Video at Missoula Film Festival USA. Martin has also written nine screenplays and directed ITV drama STEPS starring Oscar nominee Ron Moody. His first feature film screenplay, THE BELL, written with film director Vadim Jean was nominated as Best British Screenplay for the Hartley-Merrill Screenwriting Award. His three-part BBC drama feature sci-fi SCRAMBLE was broadcast many times and he wrote the libretto and score for the cantata A RADIUS OF CURVES. Martin also scored the soundtrack for the BAFTA nominated movie THE KILLING OF JOHN LENNON. As the ‘UK’s Green Poet’, Martin has published Green Poems for a Blue Planet and Verse for the Earth both illustrated by Aardman Animation’s four time Oscar winning director Nick Parkand endorsed by internationally acclaimed environmentalist Jonathon Porritt. Martin’s one man show based on the books has been performed from LA to India and from Malta to the Edinburgh Fringe! Martin was Poet in Residence for BRISTOL EUROPEAN GREEN CAPITAL throughout 2015 and has recently been awarded an honorary doctorate (D.Litt) from the University of Bristol in recognition of his poetry, music and environmental work.
