Ashok Rajagopalan has been illustrating since 1989 and writing since 2006.
He loves making up stories and drawing pictures that make people—especially little people—laugh. Readers may know him from the Gajapati Kulapati books and the Adventures of Gulgul series, where elephants sneeze, kitch-hens cook, and surprises lurk around every corner. He enjoys reading, talking, laughing, and walking in the rain.
On most days, he can be found doodling, staring out of windows, or wondering what his characters might do next. He lives in a green, quiet part of Chennai with his wonderfully noisy family, who provide plenty of stories, sounds, and laughter to keep his imagination busy.
