Andaleeb Wajid is a Bangalore-based writer. She has written on diverse topics like food, relationships, weddings etc. She weaves all of these in a Muslim context. She has spoken about how she wants to challenge the stereotypical representation of Muslim lives through her stories. She started writing at the young age of 10 and decided to pursue writing as a career after school. Her first book was published in the year 2009 which was titled Kite Strings. Ever since, she has written eight more books. These include Blinkers off (2011), My Brother’s Wedding (2013), The Tamanna Trilogy 2014), More Than Just Biryani (2014), When She Went Away (2016) and Asmara’s Summer, (2016).
