Sowmya Rajendran has written several books for children, from picture books to young adult fiction. Her novel Mayil Will Not Be Quiet (co-authored with Niveditha Subaramaniam) won the Sahitya Akademi’s Bal Sahitya Puraskar in 2015. Sowmya has an MA in Gender Studies from the University of Sussex and currently works with The News Minute, writing on gender, culture, and cinema.
