Kate Shepard
Austral Ed

Kate has worked with children’s books for many years. She founded Austral Ed in 1993 to supply books to overseas International Schools and before that she worked for 10 years at The Singing Tree Children’s Bookshop in Perth. Through Austral Ed, Kate published a regular newsletter with book reviews which librarians at International Schools in Asia, Europe and the Middle East found very useful. She also developed many lists of recommended books such as Children’s Books about Asia, Books about Art, and lists of books for the PYP. She has now retired but still maintains an interest in children’s books.
